She Prefers a Nice Firm Mattress

Lucy's got her first real bed when we got to Dallas. Before that she spent most of life in a portacrib of some sort due to our wanderings. Now she gets to sleep in a big girl bunk bed with Madi. But she doesn't seem to like that.

Even if we put her to bed asleep, every morning we wake up to find her sleeping on the floor, usually not far from her bed. This isn't because she falls out of bed - she has a safety rail. She gets out and finds a particularly uncomfortable spot, without a blanket. This is where I found her this morning - at the top of the stairs. Scary. Falling out of bed is one thing; falling out down the stairs is another.

Its crazy to look at your profile picture and think of that baby girl in a "big girl bed"! Oh, can she please not grow up! Can this one stay little forever PLEASE! It makes me so sad that I am going to miss it, and the next time I see her she won't be little anymore. :(

For what it's worth, even though she's getting older, she's still tiny. I just want to bottle up her sweet little voice - that's certain to go away. I hope Katie blogs about her locking herself in the guest room the other day. That's a great story.

John. Can you please take some video of her and that sweet little voice and post it please. The last time I swa her she was barly starting to talk. And who knows what she will sound like the next time I get to see her!
P.S. A gate for the stairs at night might be a good idea. You have got way too many sleep/ not quite awake yet walkers!
