Hand over the loot...

I'm pretty fiscally conservative, but as long as we are thinking we're going to hand out $700B, I have an idea. There are 100M households in the US. Why don't we just give everyone $7,000. I have a feeling that would put the economy back on track - it would certainly save a few mortgages.

I know, I know, it isn't a handout...

YES!! I think this is a better solution! But, it would still in my opinion, reinforce some bad behavior. I know some people are losing their homes because or medical bills or they lost their job, I would love to see them get this money. But some people are losing their homes because they choose to live outside their means. I don't like the idea of them not learning their lesson! But I still think it is a better idea then handing it over to the companies who were stupid enough to give the risky loans!

I jest of course about sending people money for kicks. If you heard on NPR how people apparently spent their stimulus package last year, I don't think they need another $7,000. I'm not going to provide such links on my blog - you'll have to google it. Suffice it to say that they confirmed the name "Economic Stimulus Package". People are sick...
